NBA GOTD: Clippers vs Miami Heat
The NBA Champions and the LA Clippers both have the same thing in common. They are both 3-2. 3-2 is a start that is below what was expected by each team – but its still early and both will probably be 50 win teams. After losing to Victor Oladipo and the Orlando Magic, a win over the Miami Heat would help provide a boost the Clippers . Going forward, the Clippers have a tough schedule and a victory over the Heat would certainly be great before facing the Rockets, Timberwolves, and Thunder. Historically, this is asking a lot because the Clippers have practically never beaten the Miami Heat at Home. Anything is possible though ::Kevin Garnett voice::
2 Things to look for:
1. Point Guard Play. – Chris Paul is one of the best point guards in the NBA. Some would even put him Top 5 of all current players. The same thing can’t be said about Mario Chalmers and Norris Cole. The Clippers should look to take advantage and exploit the Heat at this position. Chris Paul should be able to score 20+ easily – unless they make Lebron guard him. Even though they claim Lebron can guard 1 through 5, I doubt the Miami Heat would risk putting him in foul trouble by allowing him to guard the faster Paul.
2. Speed. The Clippers are definitely the faster team. Look for the Clippers to take advantage of this and try to get as many transition buckets as possible.
